We are now 7 years old!  To help keep this site up to date with all the latest information more and more of the site is now produced by external organisations. Goodbye the WIRE Project, Hello LA-UK

On the 21st of March 2007 sadly the WIRE closed down.
They had this to say to Wickonline. "Over the past 10 years The WIRE has launched a huge number of activities and initiatives for children, young people and families in the local area. As a team we count it a real privilege to have been with you all on this journey to make a difference in this community. On that journey we have had much to celebrate, we have had some incredible times, with a lot of laughter and fun but also some tough times that we have shared together.

We have achieved much recognition for our creative work including the Queen's Golden Jubilee Award and the british Urban Regeneration Association award for communtiy regeneration. Through successful partnership working with schools, health and local government among others, many of our aims are being met within the community."

Paul Sanderson and the WIRE pioneered partnership working in this area. This has led to the involvement of Sure Start, the development of the Wickbourne Centre and the Skillzone. What has been modelled in Littlehampton is now being developed in other towns around the country. Some of the activities set up by the WIRE are being carried out by other agencies including SureStart and Arun Community Church.

And so LA-UK has been birthed, you can find out more by visiting the website www.la-uk.co.uk, very much in the spirit of the WIRE, this will have a more defined and specialist focus on children and young people.

Wick Week 13th August and WICK IDOL 16th August!

Wick Week is kicking off from 13th August. There's loads of stuff going down - we'll update you asap. A few of the favourites are back: such as Film Night, Quiz Night, Pamper night and of course WICK IDOL!

Littlehampton Town Council will be leafleting every household with all the info on.

LA-UK will be responsible for running Wick Idol! It will take place on Thursday 16th August at the Wickbourne Centre.
